This sets my senior experience apart from many other photographers. After being pampered for two hours, my clients feel incredible and are ready to shine in front of the camera. Plus, professional hair and makeup alleviates a lot of stress for seniors—they don’t have to worry about finding a good stylist, scheduling appointments, or additional expenses. I handle everything, guiding you on where to go and when to arrive, leaving parents grateful for the seamless process.

Common questions:

I typically prefer a natural look and usually don’t wear makeup. Should I consider professional hair and makeup services?

I understand that many of my clients prefer a natural look in their daily lives, often opting for little to no makeup, straight hair, or a messy bun. This laid-back style resonates with many high school girls, and I appreciate it. However, when it comes time for senior portraits, I can assure you that professional makeup is a worthwhile choice. Makeup typically appears about 2 to 3 shades lighter in photographs. So, on the day of your senior session, it may feel like you're wearing a lot, but trust me, it will enhance your images beautifully.

I want to present my true self in my senior photos. I'm concerned that using professional hair and makeup might make me appear too glamorous.

I want to ensure that you still look like yourself! The professionals I collaborate with have been carefully chosen because they excel at helping my senior clients maintain a youthful appearance. We don’t apply heavy makeup; instead, we tailor each client's look to reflect their preferences. Most of the young women I work with prefer soft curls with a bit of volume at the crown. The makeup is typically light, focusing on enhancing the eyes for a vibrant effect. My artists often add false lashes to give your eyes an extra pop. If you prefer lighter or simpler makeup, that’s entirely possible. Conversely, if you're someone who desires a more glamorous style, we can absolutely accommodate that. Just communicate your wishes during your planning session, and we'll create a look that is uniquely yours.

I’ve never had professional hair and makeup done, so I don’t really know what to expect.

First and foremost, there's no need to worry! We have everything under control. You can arrive at the salon dressed comfortably, with a clean face and clean hair. The artist will handle the rest. I've already shared your preferences with her, so she will be informed about the style you envision. However, you are welcome to communicate any additional likes or dislikes during your appointment.

For the makeup application, they will guide you on what to do, including when to look up or down and when to open or close your eyes. Typically, the false lashes will be applied towards the end of the process.

Regarding your hair, if you desire soft curls, the stylist will begin by curling from the bottom up. Don't be alarmed if the curls initially appear too tight; they will be brushed out and softened to achieve the desired look. A light hairspray will be used to ensure your hairstyle looks natural rather than stiff.

I often plan to meet you at the salon towards the end of your appointment, and then we'll head to your chosen location together.

You may be wondering if professional hair and makeup is necessary for your senior session. The answer is a resounding yes! It's an essential part of achieving stunning senior pictures. Fortunately, there's no need to stress about the cost, as it's included in your session fee. On the day of your appointment, everything will already be paid.

If you're unsure about who to book or the timing of your appointment, rest assured that I've got that covered. I collaborate with several talented professional artists in the Humboldt County, California area. They are not only skilled at their craft but also enjoyable to work with. They have a solid understanding of how to make my clients look camera-ready without overdoing the makeup..
